A shortage of construction professionals has caused a slower process of home building and increased costs as reported by National Association of Home Builders.
The future is clearly here. No flying cars yet but how about a Robot that can more lay than 1000 bricks per hour. Directly from Australia we are seeing the first signs of this Technology which was developed by Perth-based Fastbrick Robotics Initial tests have even shown it can frame a small home in just 2 days.
The "Hadrian X" uses a long Robotic arm that can be mounted on a crane, track, or even barge while using a 3-D model of the house. The "Hadrian X" can even cut its own bricks, applies adhesive, than uses the arm to put each brick in place. Humans still will play an important role as plumbing, electrical, windows, doors, and other finished work is still required to be done by hand. The "Hadrian X" is not yet commercially available however it is causing a big buzz in the global construction market as it appears to build houses much faster and efficient than any human can.
While it is still in testing the Hadrian X is expected to built its first house later which which should be 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. With a shortage of brick layers this news is not only interesting but welcoming for home builders and potential homeowners alike.
